Hello!
This is Ferran Poveda (@fbeeper). Earthling from Barcelona, currently living in Los Angeles and iOS @ MyPlate Calorie Counter.
I’m a victim of my omnivorous curiosity. This site is about some of my favorite things: iOS development, product, design, accessibility, computer history, beer, and perhaps even biking or snakeboarding.

Bio
Ferran Poveda grew up in a small town near Barcelona. After pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he worked as a research assistant, taught Computer Graphics, and earned an MSc in Computer Vision and AI, and another one in Multimedia Technologies, leading up to his PhD in Computer Science with his thesis on medical imaging. During his time in Barcelona, he also created the School of Engineering’s first course in Computer History and developed a 3D facial scanning and morphing software for the university’s artist in residence. He currently lives in Los Angeles where he works as a Senior iOS Engineer building MyPlate Calorie Counter, and enjoys exploring adjacent areas like product, accessibility, and design, as well as teaching and mentoring. He is interested in the overlap between sciences and liberal arts, across any and all technologies.
